Me and Me?
Sometime ago... office sent us to this Emergenetics Workshop... we have to do a certain kind of profile testing to see what kind of profile we are... like to share what my test results came out... and maybe you all can tell me if it is accurate or not... hahaha

Your preference for Analytical thinking suggests thought processes that are theoretical, rational, and skeptical. Your Analytical brain is inquisitive and always wants answers, so you are likely to pursue topics until you are satisfied that you have the correct information. You probably prefere conclusions that are backed up with data and research. Your preference for Structural thinking suggests that you are good with practical details, favour tried and true methods and excel at creating clear, workable solutions. Your preference for Social thinking suggests though processes that are concrete, intuitive and empathic. Most likely you see the human side of events and ideas. Your Social brian values personal intuition and seeks advice from others. Because you are a tri-modal thinker, you instinctively thread each of your thinking preferences through one another; in this way your ideas are generally clear, and most likely others will understand your suggestions - even if they do not match your preferences.
With two of your thinking preferences, Analytical and Structural, based on rational thought processes, you probably are a practical thinker and a logical problem solver. To make decisions, you may use some combination of research and data, familar routines, personal intuition, and advice from others. Because uou have a tri-modal brain with three thinking preferences, it is easy for you to see things from different points of view, and it may take you a while to make a decision. One dat you may decide on Plan A, only to change your mind the next to Plan B. However, with your first third Flexibility, once you reach a conclusion you will probably not waver.
All of your behavioural preferences are in the first third. Your level of Expressiveness suggests that you are generally reserved. Your level of Assertiveness implies that you are usually agreeable and prefer to keep the peace. Your level of Flexibility means you are unlikely to change your mind once you have taken a position. With this profile, it can be difficult to get your ideas the attention they deserve. You probably are not the loudest person at the table, or the most insistent. You may have had the experience of feeling overlooked, or having someone else get credit for one of your ideas because they heard it from you and said it louder. At the same time, you are quietly determined and probably accomplish a great deal "under the radar".
As a leader, you have strong convictions, and you may prefer to get the job done wiht a minimum amount of discussion. Generally, you are a peacekeeper. You most likely are not afraid to ask tough questions, even if doing so puts others on the spot. You can forge strong alliances, and excel at team building and mentoring. Generally your idea of looking into the future is to focus on goals that can be accomplished within the next one to three years. You may have trouble delegating, because you aren't sure you can trust others to do the job correctly, and sometimes your desire to do things "by the book" may discourage creativity. You are probably prompt and task-oriented and you excel at time management and meeting deadlines.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because your level of Expressiveness is in the first third, you are probably calm, thoughtful and quiet. In general, you probably keep your thoughts to yourself, your facial expressions may be stoic, and you can maintain confidential information easily. You may learn by listening and reflecting. You don't waste words and you tend to think before you speal. You may be less dependent on others for your own amusement. You generally prefer one on one conversations or small gatherings over particating in large groups. In group situations, you hope you won't be singled out. If you must spend prolonged periods of time with people, you may eventually need to retreat to privacy, which you find energizing. Because you are generally reserved, you may be perceived as less emotional (which may or may not be the case). Sometimes you may be so quiet that you may not realised other people cannot readily perceive what you are thinking. When you are working in a team, you are often the calming influence on those around you.
Because your level of Assertiveness is in the first third, you are probably amiable, easygoing and supportive. You generally choose to go along with most decisions and tend to keep your opinions to yourself on most things. You probably steer away from confrontations and most likely are viewed as a peacekeeper. You tend to be deliberate and may complete tasks at your own pace. Because you are genial and your voice is generally even-tonned, you may run the risk of being overlooked.
Because your level of Flexibility is in the first third, you probably are focused, firm and absolute. It's likely you have strong opinions and a defined agenda. You generally are convinced that your solution is the best and you may prefer to be in control. You probably enjoy clear cut situations, and you may dislike change. You most likely need time to assess new procedures and ideas. Because you are known for being focused on the direction you deem most appropriate, you may be perceived as stubborn.
Let's say you are with a group that is trying to decide where to go for lunch. The choice is between two nearby restaurants - Indian or Chinese. You do not feel like eating Indian food, and becasue you are in the first third for Flexibility, you are not likely to change your mind. Because you are in the first third for Expressiveness, you probably will give not outward indication of your preference. Since you also are in the first third for Assertiveness, you probably would rather keep the peace than make waves about which restaurant to choose. If the group decides to go to the Indian restaurant, you may go along and order very little to eat. Or you may opt out of lunch altogether because you have no strong desire to be wiht the group. You might make up an excuse about why you cannot go out to lunch, then order takeout from the Chinese restaurant instead. In either case, you probably will do your best not to draw attention to yourself or to cause a disruption to the group.
Okie.. that's all.. anyway.... it was an interesting workshop....
During the workshop... they also said something about brain and changes lah
How to Enhance Your Intelligence
- Exercise your brain
- Music
- Reading
- Reflection
- Sensorium
- Excersie your body
- Eat healthy food
- Enrich your emotional skills
- Improve through your strengths
- Find a complementary partner
Hmm.. of all the above.. I am only into Point 2, 3, 4...no wonder I always feel I am getting not so intelligent.. HEE...
Anyway... the other thing I felt was interesting was that of the brain.
Studies show that once neural pathways (how we do things/ habits) are ingrained, it is extremely difficult to change... So... we keep doing things we keep doing.... And to learn a new skill, we will have to engage in repetivitie activities that set up and sharpen new neural pathways....
So how do we change then? Through
- 21 days
- Physical
- Focus
- Goal
- Motivation
So.. for example, if you want to excerise... then excerise for 21 days continously and you will get into the habit of excersing...
So... I am putting it into effort to do my Quiet Time for 21 days in one straight go... I started again a few days ago.. but stopped... then... today I started again... so will continue to try... HEE!
