Travelling in time

Hahhaha... In the office doing nothing... My boss is on leave, I've got nothing to do... So that's why I am here updating my blog which I've not updated for ages... Okie.. Let me make some excuses for myself. Guess which one and the person with the correct answer will get ….. (A Secret for now)

Excuse 1) My computer is giving me problems. Though Dawnie did say that I just have to reformat it... But being a Non-computer person... I hate reformatting things.. and it would mean that everything in my computer would be gone... I have been too lazy to save them into CDs...

Excuse 2) I am too tired to on my computer and type after one whole day of facing the computer in the office

Excuse 3) The TV shows at night are getting more and more interesting. My weekends are busy with meeting up with friends.

*Yawn*.. my life is boring after Mayday's Concert... Kekeke... Yesterday NANA reminded me to watch my 5 heroes on BFB... Man.. how I missed the concert... But my dear five brothers.. why you always seem to leave out Singapore from your concert scenes or CD... Are we not as high as other countries?

So, what's been going on in my life ever since May... nothing much.. work... and ... meeting up with friends lah... and that's about it.. How interesting can my life be?

Oh.. by the way.. for all those Lost fans out there who have not yet know… (which goes to show you all must be really Lost) Lost is back!!! Hahah… I did not know until my colleagues told me about it….. I missed the first episode actually.. Goes to show how much of a Channel 5 fan I am…. Okie… Although Lost is one of my favourite American serials... But PLEASE... DUN drag anymore and end the show... hahahah... I wana know the ending and the reasons for why they ended up where they are.... I just feel that the show is getting darker .... And now being shown on a Sunday night... every time I watch finish.. my heart just sinks....Not sure izzit becos of the 'darkness' of the show or the 'sian-ness' that I have to go back to work .... Oh.. anyone still wana my Lost Reviews? Kekekek... Guess not hor? kekekekekeke.....

Oh.. the other day... we had our "Secret" meeting on 11th August.... Ooo... One day after..... (that's a Secret).... KEKEKEKE..... ("P) Give my $1 million and I will tell you the Secret

On the whole... I liked the show... Thought 周杰倫 did a good job in acting, directing and coming out with the music scores ... But guess some people might say its just another time travel romance show… but guess it's also quite difficult for people to come out with new entirely creative scripts now.... and 先入为主 mah... So maybe that’s why some people feel the story is more or less reminds us of ‘Il Mare’.

Well… at least for me, for the Korean film, the two stars never got to meet. They were just passing letters to each other. The only similarity I guess was that at the end, when the guy finally met the girl, the girl did not know who he is as it was before the time they actually met.

For me personally, I loved the Korean film a lot. Felt that it was very romantic and the ending was touching. I was so “gan choing” that the girl was not able to inform the guy in time.

For ‘Secret’, I felt that the ending was a bit “duh” lah… With周杰倫playing the piano with the whole building being knocked…. For a moment I thought he was going to die then…. And finally when he met her… He stayed in the past. But if we think about it, it would mean no one could see him except for her… So how does he get on with his life? And if only she can see him, then how come his image can appear in the class photo? And my goodness, what if the first person he saw was not her and he could not go back any longer, then, wouldn’t that be horrible for him? But of course, as all fairytale stories ends… it’s a happily ever after …

Like I said, 先入为主. That’s why maybe I felt ‘Il Mare’ was much better than ‘Secret’. Guess if ‘Secret’ came before ‘Il Mare’ I would have liked it more. And we all already expected it to be a movie about time travel at the beginning after all the “spoiler” reviews. That’s one thing about knowing the story before actually seeing it. It does not give you anymore surprises.

Food for thought: Isn’t our life the same? Which would you prefer if given a choice? Not knowing or knowing?

Actually one of the original time travel romance show I remember is actually Somwhere in Time... The film's tagline is: "He sacrificed life in the present... to find love in the past."

I forgot where I heard the movie from and even forgot when I watched it. But, to the credit of the movie, I actually wrote an essay in Secondary School about time travel romance too… Whahaha.. but of course not my original creativity lah… Kekeke… For my time travel essay … think the key to traveling in time was with regards to a coin…. I forgot what else I wrote about liao… I only remembered about the person flipping the coin and thus traveling into another time zone. Hahahah… I am old now, so cannot entertain you all with my “creativity” juices.

Another time travel romance show I loved was Kate and Leopold. Ruby reminded me about it while we were chatting on MSN. Hahahah… I loved that show too ….

But guess the classic time travel movie has and always will be Back to the Future series. The one we grew up with. Hehehe…

And now, today, Lost has also applied this time travel thingy into the episode they showed just last Sunday 'Flashes Before Your Eyes'. Hahah…

Food for thought time

Sometimes I wonder, if I could, would I really wana travel back in time. Will that make any help at all? Or will it make things worst? There is always a consequence of every decision we make.

Option 1: Secondary 4 time when choosing where to further my studies in

Alternative plan: Chosen to study Engineering instead. Since Maths and Physics were one of my favourite subjects.

Consequence: If I did, I would not have gone to NP, I would not have met Lixiang and joined NP Crusade. I would not have grown in my faith. I would not have met my Poly friends. I would not have gone to MRPL. I would not have met the MRPL gang. I would not have gone SIM and met the SIM gang. I would not have been here now.

Option 2: MRPL days

Alternative plan 1: Chosen to stay on in MRPL.

Alternative plan 2: Quit my job and looked for another job

Consequence: I would not have met the SIM gang. I would not have gotten a job at ESPN. I would not be cherishing the days I had in MRPL so much.

Option 3: When given a job offer in the beginning of the year

Alternative plan: Chosen to accept the offer

Consequence: Getting a much higher paid job but working longer hours. Not having friends in the workplace as well.

Conclusion -> I guess I may never know the consequence of my decision until the end of my life. I did what I did cause at that point in time I thought it was the best. There were certain decisions I regretted but as a result, I got something good out of that decision I made anyway. Whatever it is, I guess PAPA always has a plan for my life. Of course I hope that I am living to the full purpose for what He created me for. I’m not sure if I am doing so now. But I do hope I will know in the future. Hahahah…. Maybe after the 40 days of Purpose Campaign my church is holding now.

By the way, for those EPL fans.. I heard over the radio the other day… EPL changed name to BPL…. Honestly, I prefer the name EPL… Sounds more class to me… BPL sounds like a unpro match… HAhahah….

If by the next blog I write I’ve finished reading the book I am reading now, will try to see if I can do a short review about it. It’s a Chinese book so it will take a bit of my time though.
